About High School Musical Mystery Date

High School Musical Mystery Date is a specialized edition of the classic board game, Mystery Date. The original game has been played by young girls for decades. The objective of the Mystery Date board game is for players to prepare for an imaginary date. Participants collect clothes and accessories they'll need to get ready to go out on the town with an unknown companion as they advance around the board game. Upon collecting the appropriate number of clothing and accessory cards, players open the game door to discover the identity of their mystery date.

In the High School Musical edition, the characters in the game are from the popular movie, affectionately referred to by young fans as HSM. The dates that players are preparing to meet are the male lead characters from the movie. For youngsters who are familiar with the movie, this adds a special element of fun to the game. Instead of preparing for a date with an unknown character, players have an idea of the personalities and looks of the "people" they may find behind the game's mystery door.

Playing HSM Mystery Date

As players roll the die and advance their playing pieces around the board, they make progress toward collecting the items they will need to get ready to find out who they'll be matched with at the conclusion of the game. Once players collect three clothing and accessory cards, they get to open the door and discover which of the characters they'll be paired with for their make believe date.

Players are competing for one of four different date matches with high school hunks Chad, Ryan, Troy, and Zeke. Since players are likely to have a favorite HSM character, the friendly competition to "win" a date with a certain character can add an extra element of fun to playing the game.
